Connecticut took a major leap forward into the 21st Century of trust law in June with adoption of an omnibus trust code that substantially modernizes Connecticut trust law and creates many opportunities for trustees and beneficiaries to operate more efficiently and effectively. The presentation will highlight some of the most compelling opportunities to address with clients who are creating new trust or living with old trusts.
Kelley Galica Peck is a Principal in Cummings & Lockwood's Private Clients Group and is based in the West Hartford office. Kelley focuses her practice in the areas of estate and trust planning and probate law. Kelley has significant experience working with individuals and families to plan for the management, protection, and transfer of wealth, including succession planning for owners of closely-held businesses. She handles complex charitable gift planning, estate planning for nontraditional families, planning for protection and preservation of assets, and estate, gift and income tax return preparation and review. Kelley also represents individual and professional fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate courts. Kelley is a graduate of Western New England University School of Law (LL.M. in Estate Planning and Elder Law) (J.D., summa cum laude) and Florida Southern College (B.S. in Political Science, magna cum laude).
